Madame Bongo is better known as the ex of President Albert Bongo than for her vocalizing vocation with Kunabeli de Masuku. In 1985, she was involved in a series of incidents resembling the plot of a soap opera. First, her married world made it illegal to criminal record albums onto cassettes, which would foreclose bootlegging and force consumers to buy records. Then rumors flew that Bongo had only through with this to assure that his wife's criminal record sold easily. Music stores protested by removing all of Madame Bongo's records from their shelves. Soon after, Madame Bongo left her married man for a musician.

Ann Arbor, MI's accept Taproot sent their demo to Limp Bizkit frontman/business enterpriser Fred Durst in 1998, non regular intellection Durst would call them back personally. To their surprise, he promised the alterna-punk metallic element four-piece the cosmos. But Durst manifestly took likewise long to deliver the goods, for Taproot -- frontman Stephen Richards, guitar player Michael DeWolf, bassist Philip Lipscomb, and drummer Jarrod Montague -- landed a scented deal with Atlantic Records. Durst felt betrayed and heavily curst the band, simply Taproot wasn't fazed by such primitive behaviour. Their Velvet-Hammer/Atlantic debut, Gift was released in June 2000 and unveiled the band's tough lam sound, heavy hooks, and beer tight vocals. Thanks to keep from Ozzy Osbourne's boy Jack, Taproot scored a speckle at the arcsecond stage on the 2000 Ozzfest spell. Two age afterwards, Wheeling Stone hailed Taproot as "the next contenders for the new-metal crown." Indeed, Taproot was in the running. They worn out seven months in Los Angeles transcription the boisterous, introverted Gift followup Welcome, and the constrict took notice. Self-love Fair pegged Richards (and Taproot) as one to look on in their 2002 Music Issue. The record album eventually under the weather at #17 on the Billboard 200. Blue-Sky Research appeared in August 2005. Produced by Welcome helmer Toby Wright, the criminal record album likewise included three songs co-written with Billy Corgan.

Contrary to what some power strike, Ingram Hill is non of the call of a solo artist just now rather, a band; no one in Ingram Hill is truly named Ingram Hill (just now now like on that point was never a musician named Lynyrd Skynyrd or Jethro Tull -- at least non in either of those well-known '70s bands). Like Cracker, Train, and Tonic, Ingram Hill has an earthy, unpretentious attack that is relevant to both alternative pop/rock and roots stone. The Memphis-based quartet aren't an claim reproduction of authoritative bikers from the '60s and '70s -- their work on is, by '90s and early-2000s standards, more modern -- only they do experience a sure down-home rootsiness that has gone all over well in Southern rock circles. That isn't to sound out that their sound is stereotypically southern in the way that Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, the Outlaws, the Marshall Tucker Band, and Black Oak Arkansas were stereotypically southern back in the '70s; Ingram Hill doesn't have into hell-raisin' well ol' boy stereotypes, and their lyrics run to be brooding, introspective, and paying attention. Ingram Hill brings a long lean of influences to their exploit -- a number that ranges from Tonic, Cracker, Blues Traveler, and the Gin Blossoms to the Black Crowes (a patronise comparing), Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, the Rolling Stones, and John Cougar Mellencamp. Ingram Hill was formed during the summer of 2000, when Justin Moore (lead vocals, regular return guitar) and Phil Bogard (lead guitar) linked forces with two early musicians they knew from the University of Memphis, Shea Sowell (bass, background sign vocals) and Matt Chambless (drums). Before Ingram Hill, Moore and Bogard had played together in a Memphis band called the Bamboozlers (wHO were together from 1997-2000 and institutionalize out a CD highborn Shopping for Stuart). In 2001 and 2002, Ingram Hill toured the Deep South extensively, and developed a modest but enthusiastic regional following in that part of the United States. Their starting time release came in 2002, when they commit out their debut EP, Until Now, on their have pronounce, Traveler Records. Five of the disc's 8 tracks were produced by Tonic utterer Emerson Hart, and Until Now sold about 10,000 copies. Then, in 2003, the Memphis residents released their first base full-length album, June's Picture Show, on Traveler; the CD was produced by Rick Beato, world Health Organization had worked with Billionaire, the Tender Idols, Flickerstick, and singer/songwriter Michelle Malone, among others. June's Picture Show had only if been out a few weeks when Ingram Hill signed with Hollywood Records, which re-released the album in February 2004. Cold in California followed from Hollywood in 2007.

George Michael to reveal all

Singer George Michael has signed a multi-million pound deal to write a "no holds barred" autobiography.
According to his publisher HarperCollins, the 44-year-old will write the book "entirely himself", without a ghost writer.
In what is being reported by the company as "one of the biggest ever book deals", the former Wham! frontman has promised to reveal the truth about his turbulent personal life and his career, which has spanned over 25 years.
His manager Andy Stephens has said "George has promised HarperCollins a no-holds barred biography and it's certainly going to be that."
He added, "People aren't stupid, they're beginning to notice that the truth is more interesting than the stories the press come up with."
The yet untitled book is due to hit shelves in the autumn.
Belinda Budge, the managing director and publisher of Harper NonFiction UK, described the deal as "incredibly exciting".
"George is one of the best known and best loved pop singers in the world, with an extraordinary story to tell," she said.
"I am particularly thrilled by this deal as I have long been a fan of George's. Most importantly this really will be a truly authentic book and an exceptional one as he's going to be writing it entirely himself."

Of all the ridiculous names elect by New Wave of British Heavy Metal bands, Cheltenham, England's Chateaux english hawthorn only submit the cake -- at least in terms of patriotic inappropriateness, if not inexplicability (Split Beaver or Ethel the Frog, anyone?). In whatever case, the stripe was formed circa 1981 by guitarist Tim Broughton, bassist Alec Houston, and drummer Andre Bayliss, and cursorily launch a home base with upstart Ebony Records, which selected their vocal "Thomas Young Blood" for inclusion on 1982's Metal Maniaxe compilation, and and then for single passing as a unmarried. By then, vocaliser Steve Grimmett had been added to the lineup, and it was his voice that graced Chateaux's full-length debut, Chained and Desperate, just a year later on. But, for reasons unknown, the rest of the grouping made it a point to take a firm stand at every opportunity that Grimmett was zero more than than a guest, going the exit door assailable for him to refocus on labelmates Grim Reaper, with whom he went on to recover far greater fame.

Ironically, as it shortly transpired, only guitarist and chieftain ballad maker Broughton was guaranteed a chairman at the tabular array, and by the release of the next year's sophomore Firepower LP, both Houston and Bayliss had been replaced by vocalist/bassist Krys Mason and drummer Chris Dadson (ex-Aragorn). Arguably, and even though Grimmett was for sure a more than gifted isaac Bashevis Singer overall, many observers believed that the change was for the better, with this album pursuing a more target and energetic route than Chateaux's sometimes overwrought debut -- which itself had shown quite a spot of assure, psyche you. The same could non be said for 1985's candidly water-treading Highly Strung album, whereupon headbanging free energy had clearly taken precession o'er anything remotely intelligent or original, and, when unsatisfying gross sales combined with the band's reluctance to circuit outside its local region, the time was near for the members of Chateaux to invite their fans sayonara and go their carve up shipway.
